Welcome to Torquata Stud Farm, located approx. 165km NE of Midland in the Wheatbelt town of Dowerin,.Western Australia.
The boutique stud breeds purebred Arabian horses and sits on sixty pastured acres. This country property is an excellent place to camp out under the stars especially if you are heading to the Wheatbelt for the famous "Dowerin Field Days' which is on each year during the month of August.
The grounds have some beautiful spots to pitch a tent or pull in a caravan. Equipped with a fabulous stone fire ring to roast up some marshmallows and kick back with a few drinks.
Only 6km's to the township of Dowerin where there is plenty of sightseeing to be had. Visit 'Rusty the Tin Dog' sculpture in town or maybe take a walk through 'Tin Dog Creek' and its nature reserve and bird sanctuary.
See you there!
The setting
Camp-sites available around our billabong and dam areas. If you have a large caravan or motor home you may prefer our more level gravel area up slightly higher on the property with great views across neighbouring lakes and the stud farm. Sunsets and sunrises can be seen from all sites.
The spots
Billabong Camp-sites have large gum trees, grass areas and stone ring firepits. (Suitable for tents, swags, camper trailers and smaller caravans)
Dam Camp-sites have plenty of level parkland areas to pitch a tent or two. Very pretty in spring with the dams full and the grass green.
Gravel Camp-site, this area has been levelled for self contained larger vans and motor homes. Great views across the property and neighbouring lakes.
The sanitary facilities
Outside ensuite with Toilet and Hot Shower is available at the main house on request. Between 8am - 6pm. We prefer self-contained campers at this property due to the distance between the camps and the main house.
The activities
Guests are welcome to explore the property and walk the grounds. Plenty of dirt pathways etc to follow around the grounds.
Feed the horses carrots. The horses love getting an evening or morning treat of a few carrots.
Swimming in the dam is allowed, kids are welcome to bring small kayaks or body boards.
The horse arena also provides kids with an area to kick a footy around or bring their sand pit toys.
