Although many flock to the coast, France is not all about the beaches, you can dip into the emerald-green plunge pools of Provence or swim beneath a château in the Loire. And with some of the largest and most beautiful lakes, rivers and waterfalls in Europe it’s a perfect destination for wild swimming.

Easily accessible from the UK and only a 35-minute journey on the Eurotunnel, all you have to do is pack up your swimmers and go!

What is wild swimming you may ask? It’s simply swimming in the picturesque surrounds of natural open waters such as lakes and rivers.

France has so many great places to go wild swimming, HomeCamper HQ gives you some of our favourites!
