  • The place is heavenly, steeped in history. Jacques is very attentive and fascinating.
If you're ever in Burgundy, drop in at Jacques' for the perfect vacation.

  • Magnificent, atypical bbq park. Very pleasant welcome.
The only worry is the proximity of the railroad tracks with very, very frequent crossings.
    Redhibitory for us.

  • Jacques is very welcoming and his château magnificent.
We spent an excellent evening in a quiet and enchanted setting.
The sanitary facilities are simple, functional and clean.
Perfect for a stopover like ours.
Thanks again Jacques for welcoming us.

  • Unfortunately, we arrived late in the evening, so we could not enjoy the wonderful place. Really magical place and excellent reception despite the time.

  • We had a great time in a beautiful place.
    We'll be back with pleasure.

  • Small break for a night on this beautiful domain
    Very good welcome, very friendly
Super equipment for the kitchen and sanitary, very clean, thank you

  • We would like to thank Jacques, the lord of the castle, once again for the pleasant welcome and the great hospitality. The walk through the garden was very relaxing and the castle impressive. We hope to see you again!

  • The contact with Jacques was easy.
We did not have the chance to meet but his directions were very clear and we were able to make our stay very easy.

  • It was a wonderful experience, our pitch behind the picturesque castle. Jacques is an attentive, friendly and thoughtful host. He provided us with a fully equipped kitchen and a room to eat in. He fired up the large cast iron fireplace for and so we could spend a cozy evening in the warmth. Very inspiring, the old buildings. The sanitary facilities are simple but spotlessly clean. The train nearby has hardly disturbed. Gladly we come again and stay longer.

  • Superb domain, very large and very well maintained. Everything is available and in very good technical condition and cleanliness. We spent only one night on the road of our vacations and we do not regret it, the only negative point is the presence of the railroad tracks nearby.

  • Wow - what a great location. And a lovely host who speaks great English. We have a family of four and it was great for them to run about.
    Showers and toilets 10/10.
    Mini kitchenette too.
    Will stay again.

  • This is the second time I have stopped at the castle on the road. The welcome is always so pleasant, Jacques likes to share the history of his family and of the two castles and the visit reserves some surprises. The tent among the fruit trees, we have sanitary facilities that have nothing to envy to the best campsites, and we can use the collective kitchen and the large room of an outbuilding, sometimes shared with scouts who camp in the surrounding forest. Very well maintained premises. The magnificent setting is so unexpected for small campers that we quickly forget the passing of the trains on the nearby railroad tracks, it's worth the earplugs for the night! Thank you Jacques for having welcomed us again and for letting us enjoy a little of this splendor!

  • We had a wonderful time camping near the Château. With lovely established fire pits and a clean bathroom with warm showers, we really enjoyed our stay with Jacques. Also, there is a small kitchen with a big sink that made dishes a breeze. We would highly recommend! Even for those who aren’t there for 4x4 mudding.

  • Really a beautiful place! The bathrooms are very clean and there is everything you need! Jacques was very welcoming!
The train passes not far away but unless you are very sensitive to noise, it is not disturbing!

  • Our overnight stay at Jacques' was wonderful. The place is simply magnificent, as soon as we entered the property we felt like we were in a green setting from another time. Jacques was remarkably kind and benevolent. He told us fascinating anecdotes about the place, such as the origins and fascinating characteristics of the Saint Catherine plum trees that bloom in this immense garden. The sanitary facilities are very clean and functional. The few trains that pass in the distance were not a nuisance at all. It is with regrets that we left this green setting, of calm, rest and serenity and we already think of returning there very quickly. We recommend without any reserve this place which is a "Must see"!

  • Top notch welcome:
Perfect location, nice visit of the castle, idyllic setting, and warm welcome. A large bonfire was available, and the bathrooms were spotless.
The nearby railroad made the children happy.
    We highly recommend

  • Very beautiful, magnificent, there is just the noise of the railroad but it passes well
Sanitary, shower, even kitchen for dishes
We made a wood fire outside
    It's great
    It's quiet

  • We were very well received by the person in charge of the premises who gave us a free choice for the location. Large and quiet site under the fruit trees. The sanitary facilities are impeccable! Possibility to make a barbecue or a bonfire. The train passes nearby but the noise did not disturb us at night.
Jacques came to say hello in the evening, very nice and discreet.
The only downside was that we thought we were sleeping on a plot with a view of the castle, but that was not the case...too bad!

  • Jacques our host was very available, his domain is magnificent, and what could be nicer than to spend a night in this sumptuous residence ????
The little extra, the guided tour ????

  • A big thank you to the owner for his welcome and his availability.
Very pleasant place to pitch your tent. We find there clean and pleasant conveniences. (showers, toilets, kitchen...).
We recommend you this place with closed eyes.

  • Very nice stay, the welcome by Jacques was very warm, we got some wood for the fire pit and later hé came with some suggestions for activities. The campsite is near the railroad, but at night I didn't hear the trains.

  • Superb! Exceptional setting ! Thank you it was too short we will come back !!!

  • We had a very pleasant stay with Jacques in unusual surroundings. When can you camp in a well-kept castle park....
Sanitary facilities are clean, our dogs were welcome. We were even allowed to visit parts of the Sclosses!
The place can only be recommended!

  • We had a great stay at Jacque's place! Driving up the drive way to the castle felt magical. Jacques was so nice and welcoming and even prepared a bonfire for us. We had a beautiful space for our tent in the large castle garden. The place is very well equipped with bathrooms. The location in the beautyful countryside, next to a charming little village is stunning.

  • The setting is magnificent, the sanitary facilities impeccable.
The railroad track that runs along the park is not really disturbing, the traffic is not intense and the trains have made a lot of progress in terms of noise.
I can't talk about the reception as I didn't see anyone else than the Swiss club of 4WD lovers staying in the park.

  • Super moment

  • We loved to enjoy the castle life, even if it was only in the park, under the tent, under the fruit trees, around a good campfire! Possibility to cook and to be sheltered to eat or spend the evening in the old stables, very clean sanitary facilities.
Excellent welcome and commented visit of the ballroom and some of the 62 rooms... before our departure.
Some of you may not be able to stand the passing of trains, but we were not bothered by it, all to our pleasure in this beautiful setting.
Thank you Jacques for your welcome.

  • Beautiful place and very welcoming host. It is not often that we find a location like this. We hope to return!

  • We had a fantastic stay at the domain of Monsieur de Villefranche. The visit of the castle was very interesting and exciting.
The surroundings are a discovery for nature and architecture. We would like to thank Mr. de Villefranche again for the warm welcome!
    We will come back again.

  • Delighted with our evening stop in the park of the castle.
Good welcome. Large space. We appreciated being able to make a campfire. We also appreciated the conveniences (toilets, showers, washbasins, sink for the dishes)
Noise pollution from passing trains did not disturb us.
An address to keep in your favorites.

  • Great place. Jacques gave us a tour of the place. The castle is magnificent. The perfect place to camp, the proximity of the train did not bother us. And the facilities are well thought out (shower room, toilets) + kitchen. Possibility of a campfire + BBQ available.

  • Super sympa

  • Mr. de Villefranche is a very thoughtful host: the day we came, there was a large gathering of 4x4s on the main lawn. He suggested that we set up in a small clearing at the back of the castle. The place was charming. The domain is very big and beautiful. The next day, we were given a small guided tour of the castle. Thank you again for your welcome Mr de Villefranche.
(Only negative point: the railway line, quite close)

  • What a beautiful location. Enjoyed an overnight stay on our way to the South of France. Very friendly host (Jacques), good facilities and lovely camping area in the orchard. Close to a railway line with 3 to 4 trains per hour and we weren’t overly disturbed . Power source is a little way from the orchard, but Jacques has many extension leads. We will definitely be visiting again.

  • Very nice experience, Jacques was overflowing with thoughtfulness and kindness. The park is immense and was a paradise for our young adventurers. Close proximity to major historical sites such as the Battle of Alesia Museum Park and the Bussy Rabutin Castle. The presence of the incredible Pizz'Alezia next to the Château de Thenissey is a significant plus for eating. We will return to camp there

  • We had a wonderful stay on the property of Mr. de Villefranche. He received us with great attention.
The day we came, there were a few people on the main lawn, and he kindly offered us a quiet spot to pitch our tents. The sanitary facilities are very clean and available in number. A kitchen with a fridge is available (but we preferred to cook on the fire).
I can highly recommend this place.
