What to visit in the Haut-Rhin?

The city of Colmar is particularly rich from a historical and architectural point of view. Its district nicknamed "la petite Venise" is atypical, 100% authentic, with its traditional houses and its banks: to be visited by boat!
The must-see attractions in Colmar are also the Dominican church, the Saint-Martin collegiate church built in the 13th-14th century and the Maison des Têtes, which owes its name to the 111 heads that decorate its façade. North of Colmar, Schoppenwihr Park covers 35 hectares and promises beautiful walks in the shade of the trees.
We recommend that you stop at the Mulhouse Zoological Park, which houses 1200 animals, as well as the 19th century Saint-Etienne temple, built in the neo-Gothic style.
The beautiful villages Eguisheim (particularly flowery and authentic with its fountains) or Riquewish with its Post Office museum and located 3 km from the Parc des Cignognes are worth a visit.
Lovers of old stones will love the ruins of Girsberg Castle, a listed historical monument and partly restored. Engelburg Castle, a beautiful 13th century ruin, offers beautiful landscapes. Finally, the medieval castle of Saint Ulrich, classified as a historical monument, is to be seen, especially to know the legend that surrounds it.
As for nature, the Butterfly Garden will offer you the opportunity to meet butterflies from all continents, especially the world's largest butterflies! The Hardt Forest with its 29 km of cycle paths, the Ridge Road or the Schlucht Pass (which turns into ski slopes in winter) and the Green Lake offer beautiful walks!
