What to visit in Nancy?

Located in Lorraine, in the northeast of France in the Grand Est region, Nancy has around 105,000 inhabitants.
The city has about forty parks and several remarkable gardens, but the city is also famous for its nightlife, because of the presence of 50,000 students who give it a real dynamic. It also has several sites classified by UNESCO, in particular its 18th century squares (Place Stanislas being the most important one, Carrière and Alliance squares) and historic monuments such as the tower of the Commanderie Saint-Jean-du-Vieil-Aître (12th century) or the Porte de Craffe, and the Ville-Vieille where you can admire the remains of the former fortifications, the Palais Ducal, the Cordeliers church, Saint-Epvre square and the eponym basilica.
In the art category, you will discover beautiful luxurious houses in the Saint-Léon district, to the west of the city, such as the villa Majorelle. In addition, there is an important military heritage, including the various gates of the city that were once part of the fortifications. You can also visit several museums and enjoy beautiful concert halls, those of the Palais des Congrès, the Opéra national, or the Théâtre de la Manufacture.

The city of Nancy is characterized by an oceanic climate with continental influence. Rainfall is therefore present throughout the four seasons that make up the year. Winters can be cold, unlike summers, which are pleasant, thanks to a pleasant heat. While spring in the Vosges is characterised by high humidity, in Nancy, climatic conditions remain acceptable. Nancy's climate is particularly pleasant from June to September if you want to enjoy it to the full!
