What to visit in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques?

It’s completely impossible to lay out everything! Firstly, we really recommend you to visit Aïnhoa, which is a medieval village in its own juice. Indeed, the major part of the buildings and houses are dating back to the 17th century. At the time, this village was intended to act as a stage for all the pilgrims of Saint-Jacques of Compostela. Whether it is the church, the chapel or the cemetery, everything is worth the visit. A legend tells that the Virgin appeared near the chapel that is dedicated to her, 450 meters above the village. After that, we advise you to go to the Sainte-Marie de Bayonne cathedral. In the heart of a historical neighborhood, this cathedral is spectacular and welcomes pilgrims that go towards Saint Jacques of Compostela. Part of the Unesco world heritage, this cathedral is simply majestic. The villages and the beaches of Hendaye are also worth a check. Last French city before the Spanish frontier, Hendaye is a very touristic seaside resort where the sunbathing is the watchword, and where the practice of water sports is very present.
