Punctuated by events all year round (including the Printemps du Rire in Toulouse), Haute-Garonne is a lively department, where the reputation of local products - such as foie gras or duck breast - is well established.
On the nature side of things, the department and its central Pyrenees offer a large number of walks and hikes, whitewater activities such as canyoning or rafting, beautiful lakes such as Lac de St Ferréol or Lac d'Oô. Its Canal du Midi also promises a large number of walks, whether on foot or on the water. As for winter sports, the department has 4 ski resorts, including Le Mourtis or Bourg d'Oeuil.
