Description

Upon booking you'll receive info of the exact location of the campsite. There are mountain views. A little privacy provided by trees and brush. There is horseback riding nearby, Julian pie shops and a lake within driving distance.
Since this is a voluntour the phrase: "leave it better than you found it" is applicable. Please provide photos of your improvements. It would be great for our first guests to be ready to carve out a space for a campsite. It's been sitting way to long waiting for you! The site is directly behind a house that appears vacant and there are other homes spread out in the area but with the placement of trees you'll have some privacy. Ask me about other ideas you may have to improve the site besides cutting down some small trees and providing some gravel. Please note the voluntour is a limited time only, during the summer of 2023 volunteer improvements will hopefully be finished.
For those unfamiliar with a voluntour it's an experience you pay for so the materials you work with essentially are covered by you to help out the less fortunate. In fact with this camping experience I intend to pay it forward so together we may help less fortunate ones such as homeless women and children and women wanting/needing to go on sabbatical. If you want to learn more about whom I intend to help just ask.

The setting

The Campsite is nestled in a quiet area. You may see deer during your stay.

The spots

There is very light traffic being that there are hardly any people living in this rural area of Julian.

There will be space for one tent. If a volunteer is up to helping build a small structure that is more permanent just ask check out the easy builds listed at Hip Camp for an idea

The sanitary facilities

For now you bring your own port-a-potty. For #1 I would suggest doing that on pine pellets so there is no smell.
This is a work in progress by the summer the goal is to have a permanent toilet facility.

The amenities

You can bring a BBQ to cook with there's no fire pit on site yet.

The activities

There is fishing, swimming and water sports nearby. Downtown Julian, as well as Lake Cuyamaca have apple pie for your eating pleasure.
There is a wolf facility and horseback riding in the area as well.

Other things

Enjoy hiking and the great outdoors!

Rules

No smoking! And please clean up after yourself. There will be a $20 fee if we have to collect trash you leave.
