Description

If you'd like to visit the Châteaux of the Loire or simply enjoy our beautiful Sologne, then you've come to the right place.
The Sologne countryside, with its forests and ponds, its flora and fauna, will seduce you. A paradise for nature lovers.
Here you'll find a friendly atmosphere on a 5000m² plot of land in the heart of the countryside between Chambord (19 km) and Cheverny (15 km). What's more, if you love animals, welcome to our home.

The setting

Our land is located on the outskirts of Courmemin in the direction of Bracieux at a place called "La Pilourdière". This meadow is an unused part of our 2 ha property with a small 6000m² pond.
At the bottom of the field is a passage leading to our pond, where you can go as you please and even enjoy a spot of fishing if you wish (fishing rods are available on loan, except for maggots).
While you're there, pay a visit to our ducks and our two geese on the bank (don't worry, they're in an enclosure).
Oh, and I almost forgot, there's also an enclosure bordering the grounds where you can see Quenouille and Pelote, our two little Solognot sheep, and last but not least, two enclosures housing five turtles that are sure to please the kids.
The rest of the grounds are bordered by forest. A direct access from our pond will take you, if you like a stroll, on a communal path that joins the village through the woods.
There, you'll cross two large, beautiful ponds with ducks.
As far as noise is concerned, you're bound to hear the animals from time to time. As we're in the Sologne and there are many ponds in the area, the risk of mosquito bites is greater than in other regions, so it's a good idea to bring mosquito repellent. However, we are rarely affected.
A little history! In the past, the Solognots were called "yellow bellies" because the region was infested with mosquitoes due to the presence of numerous ponds. These mosquitoes carried diseases (malaria and malaria) which attacked the liver systems of the inhabitants, giving them a yellowish complexion.

The spots

You're free to choose the size of your pitch, in the sun or in the shade. The plot is wide and flat, with direct access to the road (little traffic, just a little in the mornings and evenings at rush hour).
Please note that the site is not enclosed, so there are risks for your free-ranging animals and children (road, pond and forest).

The sanitary facilities

No sanitary facilities at present.

The amenities

Barbecue and fishing rods available on loan. For the rest, don't hesitate to ask, if it's in our power to meet your needs we'll be happy to do so. If you need electricity, you'll need to bring a long extension cord, as the power point is in a shed at the entrance to the grounds.

The activities

On the property: fishing on the pond, opportunity for children to help care for the animals.
Nearby: Visit the castles of Chambord and Cheverny, horse riding, cycling or walking on the local paths. From late August to mid-October, I recommend listening to the stag's bellow in the grounds of the Château de Chambord or, for the more adventurous, on the local paths.

Other things

Unfortunately, due to the weather, we are unable to welcome travelers all year round.
The Sologne region is marshy and clayey, and there's a high risk of getting stuck in the mud.
That's why we only welcome travelers from April to October, weather permitting. Thank you for your understanding.
